They were out of time.
Now they need a couch.
New Hope pulls dogs and cats who are scheduled to be euthanized, gets them whatever medical and behavioral care they need, and keeps them in real homes until real homes keep them. We have no shelter and no kennels — every animal here is asleep on somebody’s bed tonight.
Looking right now
Nobody is listed at the moment
Our adoption listings are loading from our rescue system. In the meantime, our current animals are always on Petfinder.
Where you fit
Three things keep this rescue running
We are entirely volunteer-run. There is no building, no paid staff, and no waiting list of people ready to help — there is whoever shows up.
01
Adopt
Application first, then a meet-and-greet, references, and a home visit. It is more process than a pet store and that is the point — these animals are not going back.
Meet the animals →02
Foster
A few weeks to a few months in your home. We cover the vet bills and the supplies we have. You cover the couch, the routine, and the part where they learn what a home is.
Foster an animal →03
Volunteer
Cattery shifts at PetSmart and Petco, adoption events, transport runs, reference calls, and writing the bios that get animals noticed. Most roles are a few hours a month.

How adoption actually works here
No same-day adoptions, and no payment until your coordinator says so. Here is the whole sequence, start to finish.
- 01
Apply
Fill out the application for the animal you are interested in — or leave it open and let us suggest matches.
- 02
References
We call your vet to confirm your current animals are fixed, vaccinated, and on prevention, plus two personal references.
- 03
Meet and greet
Once the application clears, you meet the animal — with your own dog too, if that matters for the match.
- 04
Home visit
A quick visit before anything is final. Then, and only then, your coordinator tells you how to pay the fee.
One safety note: New Hope never asks for payment before your adoption coordinator directs you to, and we do not place animals as surprise gifts. If anyone claiming to be us asks you to send money another way, stop and email adoptions@newhopesaveslives.org.
In person
Where you can meet us
We have no shelter to visit. Our cats live in adoption centers inside these stores, and our dogs come out for weekend events. Everything else happens by appointment.
