Honest answers
The things people actually worry about
- How long is it?
- The expected duration depends on the animal and the rescue’s current needs. The foster team will explain it before confirming a placement.
- What if I get attached?
- That is common. Talk with the foster coordinator before making a decision so the rescue can follow its adoption process and plan for the next animal needing space.
- What if it does not work out?
- Tell us. A bad match is information, not a failure — sometimes the resident cat says no, sometimes the energy level is wrong for the household. We take the animal back and try a different home.
- Can I foster with kids or other pets?
- Tell us the ages, routines, and temperaments in your household. The foster team will discuss safe matches and introductions before placement.
- Do I have to say yes to everything?
- No — and please do not. The application asks specifically what you can take: bottle babies, medical cases, timid animals, big dogs. Narrow is fine. A foster who burns out helps nobody.
- What if I travel?
- Tell your coordinator as early as possible. The rescue will explain its current temporary-care and transfer options.
