An animal comes to us on the day they were going to be euthanized. Then comes the heartworm treatment, the leg that has to be pinned, the eye that has to come out, the months of medication before anyone will look twice at them. Adoption fees never come close to covering it. Donations do.

These amounts describe the kind of care your gift goes toward. Actual costs vary by animal and by clinic — we would rather say that plainly than print a tidy figure we cannot stand behind.

Why recurring gifts matter more than they sound
A rescue’s hardest decision is not whether an animal deserves saving. It is whether we can commit to a $1,200 surgery on a Tuesday without knowing what next month looks like.
Recurring donors change that math. A predictable monthly floor is what lets a coordinator say yes to the dog with the shattered pelvis instead of scrolling past the post — which is, concretely, the difference between that dog living and not.
Twenty dollars a month is a meaningful commitment here. It is not a rounding error in a budget this size.
